Account and Plans
This section explains Mockomat's access tiers, what each plan includes, team collaboration rules, and how roles govern what each team member can do.
Mockomat is designed so you can start without any commitment and grow into more powerful features as your needs evolve. Every tier builds on the one below it — there are no arbitrary feature gates to force upgrades.
Plan Overview
Mockomat offers six access levels, from instant no-login usage to fully custom enterprise deployments:

Guest (Session-Based)
The Guest tier is the fastest way to try Mockomat. No registration, no setup — just open the app and start modeling.
What you get:
- One temporary project bound to your browser session
- Full modelling board, attribute configuration, and preview
- All data mapping types (OFF_FIELD, FAKE, CONST)
- A public GraphQL endpoint you can query immediately
- Rate-limited API access (per IP)
Limitations:
- Closing your browser or clearing cookies loses all work
- One project at a time
- No team collaboration
- Public endpoint only
- No project history or versioning
Best for: Quick prototyping, idea validation, demos, evaluating Mockomat before committing.
Free (Registered)
The Free tier adds persistence and project management. Create an account to save your work across sessions.
What you get:
- Up to 5 saved projects
- Persistent models that survive browser sessions
- Project list with metadata (name, slug, creation date)
- 1,000 API requests per day
- Public endpoints for all projects
- Access to official blueprints
- Team: Invite 1 additional user with Extern or Reporter role
Limitations:
- Public endpoints only (no private access controls)
- No API key authentication for consumers
- No Maintainer role — additional user is read/comment only
- Daily request limit
Best for: Individual developers, solo prototyping, learning Mockomat, small-scale testing.

Professional
Professional unlocks private endpoints, API key authentication, and team collaboration — everything a developer team needs for real development workflows.
What you get (in addition to Free):
- Up to 25 projects
- 50,000 API requests per month
- Private endpoints — restrict access to authorized consumers only
- API key authentication — issue API keys per consumer or environment
- Team collaboration — up to 10 users total + 1 Maintainer
- Comments — on projects and modelling board for team communication
- Priority support with faster response times
- Code export (backend generation)
Best for: Development teams, agencies, professional prototyping, client projects.
Business
Business extends Professional with higher capacity, more team members, and advanced analytics for organizations with multiple developers on shared projects.
What you get (in addition to Professional):
- Unlimited projects
- 250,000 API requests per month
- Team: Up to 15 users + 3 Maintainers
- Endpoint analytics — track usage, response times, and error rates per endpoint
- Concurrent sessions — up to 15 simultaneous authenticated sessions
- Advanced export options
Best for: Growing teams, organizations with multiple active projects, teams needing usage visibility.
Enterprise
Enterprise is designed for organizations that need maximum control, dedicated runtime isolation, and compliance capabilities.
What you get (in addition to Business):
- Team: Up to 20 users + 5 Maintainers
- Custom datasets — upload and map your own proprietary data
- Unlimited API requests with configurable rate limits
- Dedicated runtime isolation — your mock data environment is fully isolated
- SSO/SAML integration (planned)
- Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Dedicated support channel
- On-premise deployment option
- Up to 50+ concurrent sessions (configurable)
- Custom session and rate limit configuration
Note on Maintainer restrictions in Enterprise: Due to the sensitive nature of proprietary data imports, Enterprise Maintainers cannot access the tenant mock data import pipeline or the global mock data management area. These capabilities remain exclusive to the Owner role.

Custom
For organizations with requirements that go beyond the Enterprise tier — custom user counts, specialized SLAs, bespoke data pipelines, or private onboarding.
How it works:

- Our team will respond with a tailored proposal within 2 business days
- Pricing and scope are negotiated individually
Best for: Very large organizations, regulated industries with special compliance requirements, white-label scenarios.
User Roles
Every team member invited to your workspace is assigned a role. Roles define what each person can see and do across your projects and modelling work. For a comprehensive guide to role capabilities, invite workflows, and session management per role, see the dedicated Team & Roles page.
There are four roles in Mockomat:
Extern
An Extern is a read-only third-party user — typically a client, stakeholder, or external consumer who needs visibility into the project without the ability to make changes.
Can:
- View all projects in the workspace
- View the modelling board, entities, attributes, and relations
- View configured GraphQL operations
- Access public-facing runtime endpoint documentation
Cannot:
- Add comments or address messages to other users
- Edit any modelling configuration
- Create, rename, or delete projects
- Access import pipelines or data management
- Manage users or billing
Reporter
A Reporter has all Extern read permissions plus the ability to participate in team communication through comments.
Can do everything Extern can, plus:
- Add comments on projects
- Add comments on modelling entities and attributes
- Address comments to specific team members (@mention)
- Resolve their own comments
Cannot:
- Edit any modelling configuration
- Create, rename, or delete projects
- Access import pipelines or data management
- Manage users or billing
Maintainer
A Maintainer is a trusted team member with near-full editing capabilities. The exact scope of what a Maintainer can do depends on the plan.
On Professional and Business plans — can:
- Do everything Reporter can
- Create, edit, and delete projects
- Configure modelling: add/edit/delete entities, attributes, relations, views
- Configure GraphQL operations
- Manage API keys (create, revoke)
- Run the import wizard for datasets
- Access the full mock runtime and preview area
- Export code artifacts
On Professional and Business plans — cannot:
- Invite, remove, or change the roles of other users
- Change billing or subscription settings
- Delete the workspace
On Enterprise plan — can:
- Everything a Professional/Business Maintainer can do
- Except: access the tenant-scoped mock data import pipeline and the global mock data management area (reserved for Owner)
On Enterprise plan — cannot:
- Import or manage tenant-scoped proprietary datasets
- Access the mock data administration area
- Manage users or billing
Owner
The Owner is the workspace account holder with full control over every aspect of the workspace.
Can do everything, including:
- All Maintainer capabilities without restriction
- Invite, remove, and reassign roles for all team members
- On Enterprise: manage proprietary dataset imports and the mock data administration area
- Change the subscription plan and billing details
- Delete the workspace
Every workspace has exactly one Owner. Ownership can be transferred in account settings.

Comments
Comments allow team members to communicate directly on projects and modelling elements without leaving the workspace. For a detailed guide on comment features, workflows, and best practices, see the dedicated Comments & Notes page.
Where comments appear:
- Project level: A comment thread attached to the project overview, visible to all members.
- Modelling board: Comments can be anchored to specific entities, attributes, or relations on the modelling board.
Who can comment:
- Reporter, Maintainer, Owner can create and reply to comments.
- Extern can read comments but cannot post or reply.
Availability: Comments are available from the Free plan onward. On Free, only the Reporter role (the one additional invited user) can use comments. Full team commenting is available from Professional upward.
Team Management
Inviting Team Members
As the Owner, navigate to Account → Team to invite new members. Enter their email address and select a role. An invitation email is sent; the invitee must accept to join your workspace.
Changing Roles
Roles can be changed at any time from the Team management page. Role changes take effect immediately on the next page load for the affected user.
Removing Members
Removing a member revokes their access immediately. Any comments they authored remain visible but are attributed to a deactivated account.

Attempting to invite beyond the plan limit shows an upgrade prompt. Existing members are never removed when you downgrade — you must manually adjust the team to fit within the new limit.
Session Management
Every plan controls how many simultaneous active browser sessions are allowed across the workspace.

How sessions work:
- Each authenticated browser tab counts as one session.
- Sessions expire after the idle timeout period with no activity.
- When the session limit is reached, the oldest idle session is released to make room.
- If all sessions are active, a new login attempt is blocked until a session becomes available.
API Request Limits
Request limits are counted per billing period (day for Free, month for paid plans):
- Guest: Rate-limited per IP address — no daily quota, but throttled to prevent abuse.
- Free: 1,000 requests per day — resets at midnight UTC.
- Professional: 50,000 requests per month — resets on your billing date.
- Business: 250,000 requests per month.
- Enterprise / Custom: Unlimited (custom rate limiting available).
When you approach your limit, Mockomat shows a usage indicator in the workspace. Exceeding the limit returns an HTTP 429 (Too Many Requests) response.

Paid plans can be extended with optional add-ons:

Upgrade Decision Triggers
Free → Professional
- You need private endpoints so only authorized consumers can access your mock API.
- You need API keys for CI pipelines or external applications.
- You want to invite a full team member with editing capabilities (Maintainer).
- Your project count exceeds 5 or your request volume exceeds 1,000/day.
- You are building for a client or employer who needs controlled access.
- You want to use comments for team communication on the modelling board.
Professional → Business
- More team members need editing access (more than 1 Maintainer).
- You need endpoint analytics to understand how consumers use your APIs.
- Your request volume exceeds 50,000/month.
- You are managing more than 25 active projects.
Business → Enterprise
- You need custom, proprietary datasets instead of public data.
- Your organization requires SSO/SAML integration.
- You need SLAs and dedicated support.
- Data sovereignty requirements mandate on-premise deployment.
- You need more than 15 concurrent sessions or more than 18 team members.
Enterprise → Custom
- Your team size, compliance requirements, or data pipeline complexity exceeds Enterprise defaults.
- You require white-label or embedded deployment.
- You need a dedicated infrastructure setup tailored to your organization.
